You are an enigma to him.
He is not as fond of humans as some of his brothers are. He finds man to be a wretched species forged from blood and war, and ever-set on a path to his own self-destruction. It is for that reason that he refuses to demote himself below them, to love and worship them as he has always been told to, and why he exposed their inherent evils with the creation of his demons.
Man is the reason for his damnation, for all of his misery, and his distaste for them has not dwindled since the eons he has spent in his cage, but merely festered and grown in great excess.
And yet, you are different. He does not harbor the same desire to see the blood run dry from your body as he does the rest of your kinsmen. Rather, he feels a peculiar protectiveness over you; a need to guard you from the hidden evils that exist in your world and from the less faithful of his Hell-bound children.
And though he may claim not to be aware of what it is that pulls him to you, it is very clear in his mind.
You do not reject him. You love him just as openly as you would any other creature on this Earth; endlessly, and without prejudice.
To you, he is not the Devil, but Lucifer – the Light Bearer. You treat him with kindness in a time when no one else would be caught dead doing such an unholy thing.
Your sentiment towards him isn't something he quite understands, nor is it something he really knows how to reciprocate, but he appreciates it nonetheless. No matter how much he may pretend that he loathes it. Your emotional attachment to him is a flaw, not unlike the ones that he spoke of so long ago, but it is one that he can accept, so long as it is only tied to him.

Lucifer x Reader
"Lucifer, I'm scared," _________ whispered, as she pressed her back further against the wall. "Where are you?"
"We're not going to hurt you," the demons taunted from down the hallway.
"We just wanna have a little fun, that's all darling," another screamed, its maniac laughter piercing ________'s ears.
She heard their footsteps fade away and let out a long so. She turned the corner and was met by the group of three demons, all licking their lips.
"You didn't think we would actually leave, did you?" The tallest one smiled darkly. He stroked her cheek before punching her down.
"Look at how weak she is," a younger one with blue eyes giggled.

Caregiver (Lucifer x reader)
Most people would call it crazy when they find out that their dating the devil then after a little denial most likely they'd check themselves into an insane asylum however when you've grown up a hunter it becomes a little less crazy. Most hunters on the other hand would also call you crazy not because you were dating Satan but for the fact you remained with him after you found out. You didn't care, about any of it all you cared about was that Lucifer was actually rather sweet even after revealing himself to you he never changed his opinion of you he just cared. You walked into the apartment kitchen that you shared with Lucifer now smiling war

Lucifer x Reader
They sat in silence.
They watched the wood burn and glow from the floor, sitting as close to it as possible. The warmth of the fire was taken gladly by both of them. The snow outside was coming down so hard that it looked like night. It might have well been night. It had been so dark for so many days they'd lost count.
Lucifer turned his eyes away from the fire and onto her. The flames danced on her face and flickered in her eyes.
His pride wouldn't let him show that he was lost tonight. But he felt so misplaced, forlorn. He was past praying for, so beyond anything good. He felt his heart thumping as he drew his knees close to his chest an

A bit of a trial run for a much larger piece, at least as a in terms of it as a project. I feel this piece is a bit more clunky than my last, and that there's something amiss about it I can't quite pinpoint. But, I feel it's better to get it out there than to stress about if for months, as I'm prone to do. And, I figure if there is something glaringly wrong with it, you'll tell me so I can fix it.
EDIT: Title changed to something a little bit more befitting of the piece. (Although it's still a little iffy to me.) I'm afraid the original title was written with the older version of this piece in mind, which was more towards that 'larger project' I have in mind. Sorry about the confusion I'm sure to have caused with this little stunt.

This is beautiful and very fitting description how he would feel if he did love a human.
